The Erasmus+ youth worker mobility project “Green Horizons: Environmental Sustainability through Non-Formal Education” was successfully implemented in Kocaeli, Türkiye, between 24 January and 1 February 2026. The project brought together 38 youth workers and trainers from Türkiye, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal and North Macedonia to exchange experiences and strengthen their competencies in environmental sustainability, with participants also representing Stichting UnitySphere Europe (SUSE).
Throughout the training course, participants engaged in interactive workshops, group discussions, outdoor learning activities and intercultural exchange sessions. Using non-formal education methods, the programme focused on environmental awareness, climate change, sustainable lifestyles and the development of green skills among youth workers.
The project provided a valuable space for participants to share knowledge, learn from different cultural perspectives and explore practical ways to promote environmental responsibility within their local communities. Collaborative activities and reflection sessions also encouraged participants to develop ideas for future initiatives related to sustainability and youth engagement.
By bringing together youth workers from different countries, the project contributed to strengthening international cooperation and supporting the exchange of good practices in environmental education across Europe.
