The European Union is allocating €897 million to new initiatives that will help the bloc’s economy and society undergo a long-term transition in the fields of agriculture, food security, the bioeconomy, natural resources, and environmental protection.
The 135 new projects that have received funding from Horizon Europe are anticipated to be essential in driving forward the EU Green Deal’s stated goals and objectives. In addition to guaranteeing access to clean water and food, they will lessen the rate of environmental deterioration, which in turn will stop or even reverse the loss of biodiversity.
In addition to bolstering the EU’s Circular Economy Action Plan, Zero Pollution Action Plan, Bioeconomy Strategy Action Plan, EU Soil, EU Biodiversity, EU Forests, and EU Farm-to-Fork strategies, these projects will also receive funding from the EU and will implement sustainable and innovative solutions.
The projects have already coordinated with the European Commission and signed the Grant Agreements. While some have started their investigation already, others will start soon.
